I went on a cruise recently and my brother and I both did the Ifly thing which was very cool. My wife filmed me using her iPhone and she gave me the video which I save in photos.

However my brothers wife texted me the video from their Android Verizon phone. Messages shows it as a large media attachment vzmessages.com thing to play it.
When I click on it it brings up a safari browser page to play it as well. I can save the file but but I have no idea what format it is in. It certain ly does appear to be MPEG.

Anybody know how to convert it to MPEG so I can save it in photos for future sharing/playing and not have to use the verizon thing.

If it was texted from Android, it's gonna be a rather compressed file (unless you were on iOS 18 beta 2 or later, and got it via RCS).

I'd see if she can email or DropBox the original to you.

I can play it in the Safari browser but the download option seems to create a unrecognizable file. Do they have a proprietary compression format that the verizon understands?

I will see if I can fund another way to get the file.

If it's being played in Safari - it's not texted to you, a link got texted to you. Dunno how that was done.

What's the site name you're on when playing it?
