hi, i have a new macbook.
and i would like to send a jpg picture from my phone to the macbook.
bluetooth is turned on on my nokia n95 phone.

when i turn on bluetooth on my macbook.... the on and off buttons are greyed out.
and when i try to turn it on in system preferences, it says bluetooth hardware turned off, turn on...
so i turn on.... and nothing happens.

so its not letting me set up a new device (my phone)

can someone help me please?

ive tried reading the help files.....cant seem to do it....

can i use infrared? does my macbook have this?

thanks.

I assume you have gone to Sharing in System Preferences and turned on bluetooth there? Is that what is greyed out?

You need to enable that, then you can either browse your phone from the bluetooth icon in the menu bar or select your Mac from the phone's list of available bluetooth devices.

thanks...

no the menu bar options were greyed out..
but its ok.....ive managed to turn on bluetooth on my macbook.

and then i try to set up a device (phone) on the bluetooth assistant...
its starts scanning.....for phone.....but it doesnt pick it up......

it picked it up months ago...... i deleted the device.....cause it never worked for me..... so im trying to set it up agian now.....

bluetooth assistant should walk me through it shouldnt it?

ill keep trying..... might be just a setting or something.......

thanks.
