how to set the keypad dot as a coma for decimal input

I use a french canadian keyboard but the OS display language is set at English.

Is there a way to force the numeric keypad to use a decimal point instead of a coma?

One method would be to create a custom keyboard layout that was identical to the one you usually use except for that one key. There's a tool online that was linked from a MacOSXHints tip a while ago that may still work.

Depending on what program you are using, there may be a way to have numbers formatted to "interpret" the dot as a comma.
