Just wondering how to set the mouse to single click to select items/execute operations in Monterey? I checked under the mouse settings in prefs but there was only the option for setting the secondary click.

there are things that require a single click (ie opening from the dock), or a double click (ie, opening a file on the desktop). not sure what you're trying to do, but it has to support the way the OS works...

thanks for the reply - I want to open files in a program (to be exact project files in a DAW). At the moment these require a double click. I'll be using a touch screen on stage, so I would prefer to change it to a single click (or tap as the case may be). In Windows it's a simple toggle button under mouse settings, no such thing seems to exist in macOS.

which DAW? how many files? there's likely a 3rd-party app where you can assign a single-click for a specific function (someone else here should know which app(s) can do that).

alternately, put those projects in the dock (for now); voilá! single click to open...

the actual DAW is irrelevant really -they are all the same when it comes to this stuff...and yes the touch driver app I have, had that option so all good!
Thanks for your interest.
