Mac Pro with most recent 10.5 updates connected to net via wifi. I have a dell next to it with only a NIC card and no wifi. Is it possible to share my net connection from the mac to the pc, and would a crossover cable be required for this? thanks for any help!

Yes, but a crossover cable is not required. Look at your Sharing preferences pane.
i tried it with regular Cat5e and nothing would work, even with internet sharing preferences enabled.
