OMG i hate this. Please dont give out advice when you dont know about the subject

INTEL(Slow) Vs OCZ (Fast)

I don't disagree that OCZ SSDs CAN be faster then Intel ones, but those pictures don't identify which drives are being tested.
those Intel X-25 drives would mop the floor with a core series, but a Vertex 2 is much faster and comparable.

To be frank, some SSD's are killer, and others read like lightning, and write like a broken IDE. you really get what you pay for (and even then, there's a lot of expensive crap out there).
I have a year old 30GB OCZ solid series drive that a Intel X-25-V would put to shame.

Tomshardware SSD Benchmarks
that's about the best comparison you're going to find.

So, basically, comparison has to be done on an Individual basis.

get an SSD + 8GB Ram.

helps A LOT.

other then that just see whats open and whats using most cores.

If anybody with a SSD currently installed would humor me;
goto System Profiler, and Under Hardware, subchild Serial-ATA

tell me if the Intel 5 Chipset Link Speed is 3GB/s (should be)
and Negotiated Link Speed is 1.5GB/s (???)
for both the Device trees (both drives)

if it is, then your maximum bandwidth across your SATA channel is only 150MB/s anyways (there's 10 bits in a Serial-ATA byte)

I just bought my MBP few weeks ago ... and I realized the boot time is getting a bit longer and i'm kinda frustrated with it ! Is there anyways to speed up my boot time ?

A combination of...

Change to a SSD! :D

AND

don't shut down you mac.

SSD will give you insane performance boost. Never shutting down your MBP means you never have to worry about the boot time either way. Just close the lid when done working.
