After watching French TV last week I came across this story (in French) on a new spyware iphone ( Youtube link: View the video )

After some research, I found the site, it Spytic

You can locate and activate the microphone away from the iphone free and the software is invisible on the phone.

Where is the dude that wanted to spy on his daughter? He might like this. Funny how people think just because you jailbreak you have 0 ethics. When all many of us want is control over the device we paid for.

You read your answer in post #7...

Anytime you see "Cydia" associated with an app you need to be jailbroken.

If it is any app from Cydia, yes.

If it is in the AppStore, no.

Hopefully this thread can go back to the wasteland now

I don't believe there are any free solutions outside of the trial periods of these apps.

Yeap, think of jailbreak as rooting your device if that helps.

It's the whole culture of "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

Sadly it results in people who never get called on the idiotic things they say, which results in them not learning how to debate and discuss in a civilized manner.

For a good example of the end result taken to an extreme, browse some random Tumblr blogs. You'll run away screaming!
