Ever since they introduced this annoying "Drag windows to menu bar to fill screen" functionality I notice that even if you turn it off, the cursor still moves up into the menu bar area once the dragged window has reached it. Is there any way to turn this off?

IMHO the cursor should NEVER move from its position when I am dragging a window by its title bar and still have a trackpad pressed down.

You mean, the way the cursor “slides off” the window and into the menu bar area? I actually can’t remember what it would do before the “drag windows up for full screen” thing was added. Did the clicked-down cursor used to stop in place along with the window, even if you kept moving the mouse/trackpad? In any case, I have to confess I hadn’t noticed anything weird with it.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. But, no, I don't really remember before "Drag windows to menu bar to fill screen". I have had that option on and off and I don't really care for it 99% of the time. With it turned off, the fact that the cursor keeps going is less of a problem and a mere annoyance. But I find it odd as I don't see stuff like that in other OS.

Because you can continue to move the mouse up to enter Mission Control. It's been like that since Lion or maybe even before.
