Ok, I give up. I can't find it in DVD Player's preference (Leopard).

How do I get DVD to STOP launching every time I insert a disc?

I've unticked everything in preferences and the wretched thing STILL opens every time I insert a disc which is really mucking things up. Short of deleting it, which would mean finding another viewer, I don't know what to do.

What type of disc is it, video or data? I thinking it's something to do with the way it's been burned.

launch dvd player from finder/applications, click on dvd in toolbar go to preferences uncheck 'when disc is inserted' ;https://forums.macrumors.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=308079&stc=1&d=1319038567

DVDs produced from iMovie9/11 via iDVD, will play automatically unless you go into the iDVD system, when making the dvd, and tell it not to.
