A filter, really? How about a basic setting

Was thinking the same thing. With Spotify, all you have to do is toggle private session on/off. That’s usually what I do when my son wants to listen to something when picking him up from school.

How to Stop Your Kids From Ruining Your Apple Music Recommendations

This is what frustrates me about Apple. They already have this setting to turn it off, but it requires you to go out of Apple Music, into settings, down to Music, and then turn off the use listening history settings. While I'm happy there's an easier option coming with the focus filter, why can't they just put the "use listening history" toggle right inside of Apple Music to begin with? It's like they're going out of their way to do anything but the most logical solution.

I have the same frustration with Dolby Atmos. Some sounds great, some sounds like trash. Why can't I tap the "Dolby Atmos" text in the Apple Music player to toggle between the Atmos version and the stereo version of a song on-the fly? And I know this is a bridge too far for Apple, but imagine if it was smart enough to remember my setting for that song (!!!) so it will default to the non-Atmos version when paying, but still let me listen to everything else in Atmos?

I'd love an option where, on my kids' iPads, I can turn this off when they listen to music on those devices or my upstairs HomePod. My recommendations are spot-on, dropping the stuff I like song after song, and nothing kills my vibe more than hearing Taylor Swift after Immigrant Song...LOL

Either you're not a parent or you have the luxury of getting your kids their own personal driver and vehicle anytime they travel somewhere.

Please give me this option on my HomePods. Siri cannot discover the voice of our kid so everything she listens to comes to my account. I really enjoy listing to Peppa Pig during my favorite songs - NOT.

Simple solution Apple can implement: Allow additional users on iOS devices (Kids, Guests, etc). Forget about music recommendations.... I hate the fact that my kids can see incoming text messages and read emails on my iPad.....

It's pretty annoying, and there needs to be a way to adjust the algorithms after the fact, or to start fresh or something similar. A few years ago, we were hosting an exchange student and she wanted to listen to a couple songs when we were on a road trip (Carplay; she couldn't hook her phone up), so I played them. I still get recommendations based on those two songs...

Love the implication that whoever is using your phone has terrible taste and not just different choices in music 😂

Anyway it’s a good feature but it’s too hard to reach honestly, I would have added a guest mode in the app
I guess it’s no big deal once you set it up but what if you also want to keep DND on sometimes but not ever single time? 🤔

Focus modes is just a weird place to stash this feature in

The biggest perk of being a parent is trolling your kids.😉

With all due respect, parents should educate their children with better music choices.

My (ETA, 6 year old), son is heavily into Deadmau5, but is also a huge fan of The Prodigy, AC-DC, Chase and Status, amongst many, and of course, Michael Jackson (legend). He also likes Fleetwood Mac when he (as he puts it), is "Chillaxing", and regularly plays some pretty decent LoFi beats on Apple Music playlists.

So, I'm quite happy with him using my Apple Music sub.

People who insist on playing Baby Shark to their kids, deserve what they get. ;)

I'd love to see an option that shows me everything I've listened to (or whatever they're using for recommendations), and then be able to remove things from there...similar to how Amazon.com does it. You can remove viewed items as well as purchased items from being used for recommendations.
