How to stop notifications from work apps from going to notification center when home focus is enabled?

I have a Work Focus and a Home Focus. Both of them are set to only allow notifications from certain apps. For example, when Home Focus is enabled, I only allow notifications from apps that I use at home, which does not include a particular app that I use only for work. However, while I am at home with Home Focus enabled, the notifications from that work app still go to the notification center where I see them, which defeats the whole purpose of setting a Home Focus (to avoid being distracted by work crap).

And I am not talking about showing silenced notifications on the lock screen - that setting is off. I mean the notification center.

Any solutions or workarounds?

Focus suppresses notifications (i.e. it won’t pop up) but it doesn’t totally turn them off, so seeing them in the Notification Center is normal. That’s a location you’d have to “look at” so I guess the thinking is, it won’t be an interruption.

Personally that’s how I prefer it; once I’m back in “Work mode” I will WANT to see what notifications have come up since I was there. But I can understand how someone might want it done differently. Let them know: Https://www.apple.com/feedback

Thanks I appreciate the reply. Yeah, I have already sent them feedback so we'll see if anything changes.

My thought is that the notifications could be suspended or held aside and then dropped into the Notification Center once the Work focus ends. I want to see them too once I'm back in Work Mode; I just don't want to see them in the meantime, not even accidentally.

As a short term solution, maybe the App allows you to set it to silent during certain hours / days? For instance I have set Outlook, Slack, Teams and Asana to „don’t notify me“ between 6 pm and 8 am and also weekends
