Trust me, I have a reason. With a game I can get about 350mA @ the 12V spiky up to 450. I want to understand what the max the main board can draw. There is a lot of thermal engineering like it could get real hot, yet I cant find any way to get it anything other then ever so slightly warmish.
I also want to understand the thermal aspects better. For normal use for streaming it draws about 150mA @12V, 1.4W, and hardly gets warm.
Yet it has some fairly serious metal heatsinks and a fan. Even with a game it hardly breaks a sweat, I am having a hard time understanding the heat sink and fan. I guess because it might get stuffed into a cubby with no air flow and then someone might game on it ?
So I want to know how to load the ATV to its max loads to understand better its power draw and thermal aspects. I have a engineering need for this info.
If there is a stress test for CPU/GPU that would be great. Other chips also have heat sinks connections and so I want to understand those as well.
If there is a app that can do a full test of it, or some hidden way to do it, that would be cool to know.
This thing draws so little power at idle, screensaveer up, its hard to believe there is a sleep option. Draws 70mA @12V. 0.8W in screen saver. Streaming its only pulling 1.4 W..
