Is it a known bug ?

Im on latest iOS release.

The option is related to preserving the setting that was last used in the Camera app vs. enabling/disabling the setting itself. Try enabling that option and then disabling Live Photo when using the Camera app, and that setting should get preserved.

I have enabled it in settings now.
And on camera app it shows disabled.
Weird.

But works now. Its off.

Right...what you have "enabled" is "preserve setting", not Live Photo. What you enabled was the ability of your phone to remember that you turned Live Photo off in your camera app, so it would leave it off.

That used to be a well known bug to my devices. Finally it just stopped happening and I keep it off all of the time now

Step 1: Turn ON preserve setting in the camera settings.

Step 2: Turn OFF live photo in the camera app by tapping the circle icon.

It sill stay off.
