Today, a cousin of mine who's in 12th Grade asked me how he could take advantage of the Apple student (Education) discount since Apple launched the 2016 back to school promotion.

My question is the following: To take advantage of the Educational discount or back to school promotion does my cousin have to go to an Apple Store and present his student card? or are additional documentation required? He lives in spain..

Thank you all in advance.

Currently the Back to School promotion is only available in the US and Canada. Additional countries will likely be launched soon.

Alright, thanks. What about the education discount. I know that's available in Spain. How does one go about getting that? Is it only required to present the student card or are additional documents required?

At least here in Finland when you order from Apple's online education store, they don't ask for any verification. In some countries they may require you to login to a portal with your university credentials to verify your student status. At a store they will likely ask for a student ID.

Note that as far as I know, Apple education program is limited to college/university students worldwide.

In Canada you can go into a store with an ID card or if you order online simply identify your school from a pull down menu.

Your cousin should try it and see what happens. Just to be safe I would take any documents he or she might have but I really think an ID card is all you need.
