How to tell an Apple TV 2 or 3 apart?

How can you tell an Apple TV 2 or 3 apart physically? Also, how can you tell them apart in iTunes? Thanks in advance.

The model number on the bottom. Its very tiny and difficult to read the # is A1427 the 2 is A1378.

to tell them apart in iTunes, on the aTV, go to settings->general->name.

you can assign them a name, and that will show up in iTunes.
if you select "Kitchen" from the list, the name will actually be "Kitchen Apple TV", if you do custom it only does what you type.
