2nd gen ipod running on 3.1 firmware

I recently dropped my ipod and i cannot connect to my router anymore. My ipod can occasionally connect but it is completely random. I've noticed that performing a content erase will allow the ipod to connect. After the first erase, i restored and the wifi couldn't connect. After the second erase, i manually loaded my content back on. At first it worked but now its starting to act up again.
Is it a hardware problem or something else???

Try it with another router. It sounds to me like a hardware issue, either with your iPod touch or your router (probably not the router if you have other devices on it that still work).
