iPod touch How to tell the generation?

Hi,

I wonder, does my iPod Touch 32GB (mb376zd) belong to the 1st or 2nd generation (bought in August 2008)?

Second generation. There are no first gen 32 gig iPod Touch'es. First gen are 8/16 GB only.

Sorry, but there was indeed a first generation 32GB model. The second generation did not come out until September 2008, so yours is a first revision model.

Yeah thanks, I've just realized after I hit the post button. I was looking in the Apple knowledge base and in the first chart it says first gen 8/16. And second gen 32. But if you scroll down and read the text it says different.

An easy way to tell if whether the back is flat or curved. Flat = 1G and Curved = 2G. The 2G also has a black volume rocker switch on the left side.

i think you're admitting you're wrong that there is no 32GB first gen? cause i know for a fact there is, i have one.

if you're Touch has volume up/down buttons on the left side it is a 2nd generation Touch, if there are no volume buttons on the side, it is 1st gen.

the 2nd gen came out mid-July 08 i believe cause i remember i bought a 1st gen sometime in July and the 2nd gen came out like 15 days later....ahhh
