    Hi,

I wonder, does my iPod Touch 32GB (mb376zd) belong to the 1st or 2nd generation (bought in August 2008)?

    Thanks a lot!

Second generation. There are no first gen 32 gig iPod Touch'es. First gen are 8/16 GB only.

See a list of all Generations:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353

EDIT: No wait I am wrong. But look in the article i posted. Differences in the antenna and the overall shape.

Sorry, but there was indeed a first generation 32GB model. The second generation did not come out until September 2008, so yours is a first revision model.

I edited my post. It seems I was wrong. Could be a first gen! Look at the article I linked above.

Yeah thanks, I've just realized after I hit the post button. I was looking in the Apple knowledge base and in the first chart it says first gen 8/16. And second gen 32. But if you scroll down and read the text it says different.

Looks I’m just out of luck... The second gen was introduced a month later...

    OK, never mind.

    Thank you all, guys!

An easy way to tell if whether the back is flat or curved. Flat = 1G and Curved = 2G. The 2G also has a black volume rocker switch on the left side.

i think you're admitting you're wrong that there is no 32GB first gen? cause i know for a fact there is, i have one.

if you're Touch has volume up/down buttons on the left side it is a 2nd generation Touch, if there are no volume buttons on the side, it is 1st gen.

Indeed, another type of antenna, no volume buttons, August 2008 = 1st gen. Sad, but nothing to do it seems...

It came out in September. The iPhone revision, however, was released mid-July 2008.

I’m extremely sorry, wardev, is this a question to me? What do you mean?
