I've got a USB modem that I bought with my first MacBook, which worked fine years ago, but it's been sitting in a drawer ever since. I'd like to sell it, but want to test it first to make sure it still works. Is there any way I can do so?

Needless to say I don't have dial-up internet, or any program that would attempt to use it! I've tried just plugging the modem in, but I still don't see it as an option in Network Preferences or anywhere else. Any advice would be much appreciated!

My current machine is a Macbook Pro 13" 24ghz C2D running Snow Leopard.
