yea it is very annoying that i couldnt get any answers from google.
don't wanna buy any software.
I believe there must be someone who has done that !
You can plug your phone in your Mac and right click it in iTunes, then select backup. Bam.
Your google skills need updating
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Copy from there to:
Just copy the files directly? so easy ?
Yes. That's why I said you need to check your google skills.
and how can i get 'mobilesync' ?
Do i need to plug my iphone first?
haha. how did you search??? =P
Will that method also move all your songs & playlists to the new computer?
That wasn't the question asked. You'll have to transfer the whole iTunes folder and import the library xml file for that.
so what will be copied by your method?
Contacts, sms iphone apps yes?
Songs, Playlists, Photos, Videos, do not get transferred from the backup, everything else will which is what moving those files will do. What you can do is sync them to the computer currently sync'd on the phone and move them via other methods like networking.
how come i can't see the folder 'MobileSync/Backup' on my mac?
do i need to do something first??
I only have 'syncservices' in Application Support
how come i cant transfer all the backup files?
As another said just make a new backup on the new computer. Then you can just copy your media over manually.
the problem is when i copied the backup file from my old PC...not all the files that can be copied...
i had around 6GB of data in my backup folders but i can only copy 2GB out from there...
so basically i can't transfer everything from my old PC to new Macbook?
