    Hi all,

Due to an unfortunate cock-up by O2 I'm in the enviable position of having two iPhones :)

What happened was that I ordered a White iPhone/contract online from O2's website and they said it was out of stock (even though the website said it was in stock), so I rang and cancelled the order and went into town and bought the black one.

When I get home there's an email saying the white one is out for delivery *sigh*

Anyway, my girlfriend is due a new phone and wants an iPhone so she's gonna have the black one while I keep the white one. But I want to use the number I got with the black one.

Can I just swap the SIM cards over?

What's the best way to prepare this black one for my girlfriend?

A step by step guide to changing over phones would be greatly appreciated :)

    Thanks in advance guys :)

    Alistair

    1. pick up both phones
2 go to O2 store (transportation mode of your choice)
    3. explain to rep what happened
    4. have them fix their records.

Yes you can just swap the SIM over.

What you do with the other one depends what kind of contract/carrier you want to use it on.

    Thanks for your replies.

Just an update for you all, my girlfriend has decided to keep the black 8GB iPhone and contract that goes with it so we now both have an iPhone.

As the standard O2 contracts don't have unlimited texts we had intended to use email. I have a MobileMe account and so my mails are pushed to the phone, but my girlfriend doesn't have MobileMe. Does anyone know of another email service that will push to the iPhone like MobileMe does?

    Thanks again folks

Yahoo mail is supposed to push to the iPhone, but the reports have been uneven about whether it is reliable. For myself, I've never thought I needed to get email any faster than the shortest fetch interval provided by the phone, which is 15 minutes. And I keep having a feeling that my Gmail accounts get to me more often than that.
