How to Transfer Project File in iMovie

I have edited an movie in iMovie complete with clips, music, photos, etc. However, playback is acting very sluggish from my External HD. Therefore, I want to attempt to move the file to my main HD. Can I simply move the project file to the HD and have the edited version with all the media, edits and transitions accompany it? If so, is it simply a matter of copying the project file from the External HD to the main HD? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure just copying the file from one disc to another will work, providing you have the room.
