Hello all. I recently installed the most recent (18A384a) beta of Mojave, and my MBP has no internet connection.

My router is plugged into a cable modem (which I don’t have access to, but I can ask for it to be power cycled if necessary). The router (AirPort Extreme) is working fine, my MBP seems to connect to the network but there is no internet connectivity. Other devices still connect to the router and they work fine, just as this MBP did before updating. In terminal, I am unable to ping anywhere.

How can I troubleshoot this connection? I’ve restarted the router, toggled WiFi and restarted the MBP, and I’m sort of stuck. Thanks for any help!

Were you using a network monitor such as Little Snitch? This needs to be updated to a newer beta version, You may need to uninstall manually first.

I do use Little Snitch, but it is not currently running. When I installed Mojave, Little Snitch said it wouldn't run and that I needed to download a nightly build to get it working. I figured I'd wait on that until they updated it to the final version. Good call though!

It looks like my problem might be with my router(s) after all. I'm at my office now and I have an Airport Express as the router, and it does not work but my other devices do. However, I tried signing onto the xfinitywifi network with my Comcast login, and I am typing this reply on the MBP. So I've narrowed it down to the problem being the Airports themselves, or a communication error between Mojave and the Airports.

I had this problem with my Airports before. Some devices would work and some wouldn't, but eventually they all did so I haven't messed with it in months. I've factory reset them both and nothing seemed to work, but I might have to replace them if they continue not working.

Even though it’s not running there is some part of it running in the background. I had to delete little snitch from applications and reboot, after that it worked. I’ve never had problems with my AirPort Extreme, do they need their firmware updating?

So the MBP would work intermittently, and I was frustrated. I brought both AirPorts to factory settings and set them up from new. All my devices worked except my MBP which would not. It connected to the networks fine, but only some services worked. Messages worked fine, but anything on the web would probably not. Very frustrating.

I downloaded the nightly build for Little Snitch and everything seems to be working fine now. It's weird, I tried force quitting the app in Activity Monitor and it would quit for a brief period, enough to make me think I had successfully quit it, but it just opened itself again. So it looks like Little Snitch was the culprit, good call! Thanks man.
