How to turn kb backlight on/off?

Is there a button or an easy way to turn the keyboard backlight off? I don't always want it on, and going to system prefs every time could be annoying.

The F5 button means dim the light settings in the keyboard of a 2.4GHz MB or MBP. Press that until you see the lights dim completely.
