Is there a way to make Siri not beep? Even when the phone is on vibrate it beeps. There doesn't appear to be a setting for this.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

If it isn't in General-Siri than I doubt there is a stock way of doing it.

Mine stopped beeping and I WANT it to beep, at least most of the time. I would like to be able to shut it off, but something happened yesterday that it is no longer beeping. I have restarted Siri and the phone...no help.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Would love to know this too.

First time i used siri while in my office where it is relatively quiet i get this loud "ding ding" when you hold the button for siri even though my phone is on silent.

Was super loud when you're not expecting it to come on at all when your phone is on silent.

I'm so glad I found this thread! Siri on my phone wasn't beeping anymore and I couldn't figure out why. Thanks!

That is a temporary workaround, not a solution. Basically you have to put the phone and Siri on silent separately-- that's pretty stupid. Hopefully there's a hack or something that is more intuitive until Apple catches up.

I just turned Siri off, lol. She's not that helpful :D

But yes...I'd be texting at work or somewhere else quiet and I'd accidentally hit the siri button all the time and its BEEP...then BEEP. lol

Good info!

:apple:

This is very good information to know. I'll test this out and see how it works in practice.

As mentioned earlier, having to do this is stupid. When the switch is in the silent position, Siri should be silent. That's the intuitive way. When I throw the switch, I don't want the phone to make noise unless I run an application (such as Pandora) that makes noise as a main part of its function.

Apple should also have a configuration option that allows you to disable the beep and/or Siri's voice separately. I like using Siri, but I don't always need her to ask me what I want. I hold the home button, I see the question on the screen, I say what I want - I don't necessarily need the beep OR the voice prompt. I would like to see Siri a little more configurable other than on or off, lift-to-talk or not, etc.

DotMe, THANK YOU. I can't believe I never thought of this. I love the Internet, forums ftw.
