how to turn on camera on M5 MacBook Pro

I turn on PHOTO BOOTH and / or FACETIME ... and for some reason, the screen is blank - my camera is not on.

I can't figure this one out—how do I turn it on?

When I used FACETIME a few days ago, it was working fine.
