How to turn on screensaver when selecting Keychain's "Lock Screen"?

I have Keychain's status displayed on the menu bar with its lock icon. When I select Lock Screen it shuts off my display. I don't want that. I want it to go straight to the screen saver when I select Lock Screen. How do I do that?

Yeah, I noticed that too - but I imagine it's a bug, not an intentional feature.

yeah I had this working with 10.5 and now it just goes green

Not a solution but a good alternative:

Set a Hot Corner to activate the screensaver. I have the bottom left - so when I want to lock my Mac, whack the cursor to the bottom left.

Was there ever a solution for this? Looks like it's a "Feature" not a bug 🙁
