How to type Hiragana on my iMac - Please help!

Hi everyone,

I want to be able to type Hiragana or Katakana on my iMac... But I don’t know how to do it. I know that you can switch your keyboard language, or something, without changing your whole OS language, but I don’t know how... So could someone please give me some instructions on how to do it, or post a link to an article that has some instructions?

Hey there!

Typing Japanese Kana isn’t too difficult on Mac OSX. You can enable it in the system preferences, then simply toggle it via the menu bar. I did a Google search and found a couple of good tutorials which may be of use to you, so good luck:

System Preferences -> Language & Text -> Input Sources. Pick Kotoeri and "Show Input Menu in menu bar". カ高菜　ひらがな. (That's what you get when you type katakana and hiragana).
