My gmail spam folder has so many junk mails that it takes forever for mail to sync. How do I un-sync the spam folder but still sync to my other mail boxes (inbox, sent, drafts, trash)?

Not on a Mac here so working from memory, but I think if you go to Mail > Prefs > Accounts > Advanced > Mailbox behaviors you can untick "sync junk mail folder"

on Mail 3.0, after Accounts, there is Mailbox Behaviors and Advanced. Advanced doesn't have any option regarding junk mail. In Mailbox Behaviors, there is only "store junk messages on server."

I've looked everywhere in the preferences. can't seem to find anything.
