In System Settings -> General -> Login Items, there are several programs in the "allow in the background" category that I have since uninstalled.

How do I uninstall the drivers for these? I don't see a way to do so.

I believe someone else was asking about this. There is not a way that I know of to delete those items. Maybe running some terminal command, but I certainly haven't found a way.

It is great that Apple have made it clear to people that they have these login items and background tasks, but (like much of System Settings) it is badly executed.

Uninstalling an app involves more than just deleting the app from /Applications. You need to use an "uninstaller" like the free AppCleaner. I also use the paid apps "Remove-It" and "App Cleaner and Uninstaller". You can (in decreasing order of preference):

1. A few apps (e.g. those from Adobe) have uninstaller apps. Use these if you can.

2. Reinstall the app, then uninstall with AppCleaner. This will delete the app and remove associated files including background tasks.

3. Poke around in ~/Library/LaunchAgents, /Library/LaunchAgents, /Library/LaunchDaemons and delete items which refer to apps you know you have deleted. Then reboot. This will get rid of most background tasks. Take care or you can mess up your system.

4. Put up with the undeleted background tasks most of which are probably not actually running (because of what you have deleted) and any others are probably not doing any harm.

The answer to your post is here. Deleting the files in those folders will remove the program from the background start which, as gilby correctly said, probably are not active since you have already uninstalled them.
However, I also suggest you to reinstall and delete with AppCleaner, just to be sure that everything is cleaned up from your system and not encounter any folder anymore 👍

I am not sure if that helps, but I read an article on how to remove login items did the trick for me. I just followed the steps they mentioned without buying any software or anything that they tried to promote but I just followed the "System Settings" method, and it worked.

Here's what I did:

2. Using System Settings

System Settings allow you to manage and remove login items on your Mac. Follow these steps to check your login items in System Settings:

  1. Click the Apple icon in the top left corner of your screen and tap System Settings.
click apple icon and select system settings 3

  1. Select General and click Login Items in the right menu.
click general and select login items 1

  1. Here, you’ll see the items that launch when you start up your Mac.
  2. Select the login item you want to remove and click the button at the bottom of the list to remove the login item.
select the item you want to remove and click the minus button 1

You can see this and other methods on this website's article about removing login items.
