What you can do with a jailbroken iPhone is limitless.

Have fun.

Ive read so many threads where a user has gone back to stock and missed the jailbreak !!

I was under the impression that a previously jailbroken iPhone was easy to spot, unless done through DFU/Recovery mode? Is there any truth to this?
Also, will I be able to update to 5.1 if I do the regular restore through iTunes?

It will automatically upgrade to 5.1 at this point.

To clear the jailbreak, restore, choose set up as new
Do not restore to backup

But than you've lost all your data.
So, no more recent text messages, photo's etc.

Or do they come automaticly when you connect your iPhone to the iCloud?

And won't the ciVoud put some data on you iPhone from your previous jaiolbreak?
