Ok today dam is a PH , encounter this bad day again on my old iMac. Actually i using it for Forex stuffs run 24/7. I suspect HDD fault but somehow I managed to Force it work again. I spend today whole day this Public Holiday trouble shoot zzz , go youtube find solution, google around again .....Just i wanna give up , I give one more tried before I dump this old iMac . I own two iMac this old iMac is mid 2011. Got power problem last time just last year I go replace it at repair shop. I thought what? again power failure? Actually is nope . Ok here is what happen sorry for my poor english .
So today as usual wake up in the morning , wake up my old iMac which always running 24/7 as i use it to run robot , also use as online radio, listen streaming weekend will watch movie on this old iMac. My another iMac is more on working other stuff , forum , work etc .
My trackpad got problem in fact but still can use , iMac power button faulty need to press many times and pray it turn on , but i put it auto wake up in the morning so I don't need to use the power button
As usual wake up in the morning , press my keyboard to turn on the monitor , as my iMac never go sleep always on.
I only turn off the monitor while go to sleep or never use it watch movie but left it always on running robot and play online radio only turn off the radio at night , robot still running at the background.
I always turn off my touch pad when not in use , partly it can auto move and shut down programs. I does go google around on trackpad issues , some user got this problem , again claim reset the SMC , what vram I tried that but no use
so my way to fix is turn off the touch pad when not in use. only left keyboard turn on to turn on the monitor
Today the track pad cannot connect , turn off and on again still cannot . So not choice I have to turn off the iMac , as usual pray hard press the power button hope it turn on
so it turn on but it seem always hang can't load the OSX.
So go around google etc how to fix , now is weird , it work , I test it , restart many times , it seem ok load the OS
after i reinstall some programs needed. '
I tried all these 3
first
Command (⌘)-R
try to go disk uliity check , it show my HDD seem faulty
i even try single mode , what sdk / fy that command , it show a lot disk error i/o i remember
I also try
Option-⌘-R
also cannot work
than try
Shift-Option-⌘-R
also seem can't work
I only just want to reinstall the OSX as I don't want to wipe all
in the end , I try again wipe all reinstall , weird it work iMac back working
One thing I noticed the Mac HD which is HDD the name change to what Disk 1/0 while I going to reinstall the OSX
and it able to reinstall
Sorry for my long and poor english explaination here....
I current not say got funds so trying to solve even tell me myself well no choice just dump all the thing on my another iMac to work also run the robot
but lucky the old iMac able to function back.
I not sure why happen
maybe my hDD corrupted? I go use another spare free disk drive to run ? reinstall?
but as long can work back I ok , as long save some money first ,
I kinda feel is part of my HDD got bad sectors maybe ...? I haven't check the disk again using the Mac disk unility as now everything seem work back again , I just don't want to mess up
