I have neverer tried doing this on my laptop(m1 Air). I googled it and I tried hitting Quick Look after right clicking and I see the option to uncompress but it doesn't work. It says it is an unsupported format

The program itself tells you what the problem is.The ZIP archiver does not support the archived file. Get yourself a WinZip program - it is omnivorous. Lifetime license from 30 bucks. Buy it once and you won't have a headache in the future. If you don't feel like spending money, download from a torrent.
It may happen that the archive is initially corrupted during archiving. You will have to restore it.
On macOS file systems, underscores in filenames should not be a problem for unpacking. The only characters not allowed in filenames are “/” and null bytes (zero), and everything else, including spaces, dashes, and underscores, is allowed.

There are different variants of ZIP compression algorithms. I have never come across a ZIP file I couldn't unpack with The Unarchiver, so I suggest you try that one.
