MP 1,1-5,1 How to update Catalina to Big Sur on cMP with OC?

What is the best way to update an OpenCore/Catalina installation to Big Sur on a cMP4,1 flashed to 5,1 with Dual-X5680 and GTX680 graphics?

Is the hardware supported at all?
Is a clean installation necessary?

I don't think we know exactly what all the hardware requirements are for Big Sur. Officially supported Macs require a firmware update for 11.0.1. There may be either significant or minor problems running it on a 5,1 or older, which may or may not be immediately apparent.

I guess, It won't be that easy to simply upgrade from an OpenCore-Catalina to Big Sur via the onboard upgrade function.

check what I asked, then follow the instructions that I was given.
it worked for me 100%, zero errors.
now im happily using Big Sur just by the automatic update from apple, and also in another ssd I have windows 10 installed and works perfect too.

super simple.

I never really reply to messages, im just so grateful someone helped me today and it worked without errors.

Nice! Is the "UpdateSMBIOS false" somewhere explained or can you give me a hint?

Does it modify something to the OC-Settings or will it interfere with the already installed Windows 10? Is it necessary to save the now working config.plist somewhere and copy it back to the efi-drive when the update to OC 0.6.3 is done?

Thanks to everyone (especially VillasManzanill)! Updated to OC 0.6.3 and afterwards Big Sur installation via the Catalina onboard update function. No modification of the "UpdateSMBIOS" key necessary.

The only thing I have noticed, are the not working monitor brightness adjustment keys

Sorry this is off topic - How did you install Windows 10? I tried the rufus method and got it installed but once I started trying to install GPU drivers I got locked out of windows and couldn't get back in. Haven't tried installing it again yet. Any tips would be welcome.
