Is it possible to update from 9.0 jailbroken to 10.2 without losing all my non jailbreak apps and information? Is it as easy as making a backup and then restoring the backup after updating?

This used to not be a problem when I had the 16gb I phones because I would start fresh each time because I ran out of room anyways but now that I got 64gb don't really want to start over. Thanks.

Yes, it's as easy as backing up. Here is MY usual method.

    1. Connect to iTunes and backup.
    2. Turn iDevice off, but leave iDevice connected to computer and iTunes running.
    3. Put iDevice in DFU Mode. Proper DFU mode will show a blank screen.
    4. When iTunes detects your iDevice in recovery mode allow it to upgrade and restore as new.
    5. When iTunes is finished and your iDevice is upgraded, restore iDevice from the backup you just made. This will restore all your data and apps.

DFU is not strictly necessary, but I made it a part of my upgrade habit in order to be sure I was eliminating ALL of the previous jailbreak elements. So far, nothing has yet risen to bite me in the ass when a new jailbreak has allowed me to jailbreak again.

Some people have found that simply plugging in to iTunes and upgrading, while keeping their data, has screwed them over when they attempt to rejailbreak at a later time.
