It still tells me no update available.

I don't care about losing jailbreak... I also have one of those appletvs that no matter how hard I try I can't get in DFU mode on my pc to restore it.

I believe the firecore disable updates, however you don't need to put your box on DFU to update the firmware, hook it up to iTunes using the USB cable, and click "restore" it should do the trick.

yeah i have wondered the same thing but there is no point in updating right now since there is no jailbreak available for the new update

My guess is that the OP wants the new IU, he said he doesn't care about JB
