Hello here is my guide on how to Update and or jailbreak your apple TV with the Apple servers down

P.S This Works for mac, can't confirm on windows

A : Update the Apple TV
1) Download the Office .ipsw with this link

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9RRLTLBU

I have problems uploading atm so i'm not sure if this link works (Try it if you can't put it in alt + click i seasonpass and it gives filesystem cannot mount, then the file isisn't good

I'll try to continue uploading my working one

If for any reason it's not named that way rename the file

AppleTV2,1_4.3_8F305_Restore.ipsw

2) Plug the Micro USB in your Mac or Windows and in your Apple TV
3) When Itunes detect your Apple TV press ALT (option) (mac) or shift (Windows) then click Restore in itunes
4) Let Itunes do the process.
5) When it's done unplug it from the USB and plug it back onto the TV to enjoy your apple TV or move to B to jailbreak it

B) Jailbreak to 4.2.2

0) Make sure you have your shsh blobs saved (Not the goal of this tutorial)

1) Download Seas0npass

http://support.firecore.com/entries/387605-jailbreaking-101-seas0npass

2) Open SeasonPass and instead of click on create IPSW, press ALT on mac (shift on Windows) and then manually go get the IPSW download in A-1

3) Let Seasonpass do the job
4) When it's needed plug your Apple TV in the Micro USB and put it in DFU
5) Seas0nPass will open Itunes but will give your a script error.
6) Press Alt(Mac) or Shift (Windows) then click restore in itunes and go get the Jailbroke IPSW normally named AppleTV2,1_4.3_8F305_SP_Restore.IPSW (In your home folder on Mac, No idea where on windows)
7) Let itunes do the rest.
8) Congrats on your Apple TV 4.2.2 Jailbroken

can you repost the link? Dropbox has disabled the public link because of all the traffic it has created.

i'd tried your firmware and it seems it is working, but... i got this error while updating/restoring: Apple TV ins’t eligible for the requested build.

so, this means this is not that last firmware? they are up to release a new update? what's going on with this apple?

Are you updating or jail breaking

If you update make sure your apple tv is in dfu mode

If you jailbreak you have to pass threw season pass first because it sends files to the apple tv before the jb process
