After ordering a new iPhone on my line which wasn't upgrade eligible I realized I could have ordered it on my father in law's line that is. Normally I think the process would have been to order the phone under his name (He's on my family plan) then switch the SIM cards and cancel his data plan... However I didn't do it in that easy way. I ordered it through Apple.com and upgraded MY line at $450... What can I do to fix this problem? Can I bring it to the Apple Store this weekend and exchange the phone on my line, get my money back then buy it again on his line and pay less? Does he need to be with me? After I exchange it do I HAVE to activate the iPhone under his number before I can take the phone for myself? (Meaning he would have to be signed up for a data plan?) Since he is using a dumb phone he doesn't have a data plan nor a mico SIM slot.. Meaning I would have to go to the AT&T store and get a new SIM card and go through the process of getting his phone working again yea? I want to do with without putting the man out at all... He is almost 80.
