How to upgrade to ios 5.0.1 with 5.1 available

iam having iphone 4, 5.0.0 IOS. i want to upgrade it to 5.0.1 but itunes is showing error 3194 while upgrading/restoring.
i tried changing the host file also ... non worked ..

plz some one help me....

You must have 5.0.1 hash and APTicket file saved to restore to 5.0.1

Guys I'd like to add on to this thread since I want to upgrade my iPhone 4 with IOS 4.2.1😀 on it to 5.0.1 and jailbreak it also.

I've pulled my my SHSH blobs from Cydia already.
Downloaded a IPSW of 5.0.1

What's next?
Do I start tiny umbrella TSS Server and then hook the phone up, start up iTunes and put the phone in recovery mode and then point to the IPSW 5.0.1 file and upgrade that way or do I need to go all the way to 5.1 and then downgrade...

randhirek:If you haven't saved your SHSH blobs for 5.0.1 then you won't be able to. It wasn't clear in your post if you had them or not.

I made a little tutorial for restoring iPhone4 and older iDevices from 5.1 back to 5.0.1
* You must have both 5.0.1 hash and APTicket file saved
* This does not work for iPad2. iPad3 or iPhone 4S (because there is no boot level exploit for these devices)
* The tutorial is specifically for MacOS (but the general steps are the same for a PC - some have stated that Redsn0w will not do this on PC ??)
