Maybe Apple should improve the user interface for their music and messaging apps so tutorials aren't needed.
True, pre ios 7 , nothing in IOS needed a tutorial.

Actually it's the best oneThis is literally the worst version of the Music app ever made by Apple. Bad usability and completely incoherent design choice.
So - this only works with an Apple Music subscription? I.E. - it won't add lyrics to my library of songs without the subscription?
No, you don't get something for nothing.

In iOS 6 all you had to do was tap the artwork in the main player window. Simple, easy, direct. Not to defend the UI/UX of the Music app in general I agree that it gets confusing. But I am curious what the better solution for this specific feature is? This is a non-critical feature and it's only hidden behind 1-2 taps. What's the issue? Where would you put this feature?
It's easy to quickly judge these things, but as a software developer who often helps with UI/UX design, I am failing see a better place for this.

I had lyric in my music because I did it manually via iTunes.now none of the lyric show up for my music.
I don't use apple music
It appears to require an Apple Music subscription, not merely Purchased or Matched music. I purchased the Hamilton soundtrack through the iTunes store, and I don't see any lyrics. Same for every other Purchased or Matched song I tried. The menu item is simply not there.

It exists.I subscribe to iTunes Match (which technically doesn't seem to exist anymore) and none of my albums -- not the ones where I added lyrics myself nor any that I bought from Apple (including Hamilton, which is shown above with lyrics) -- shows an option to view lyrics. Apple should have put a big asterisk next to their announcement of the feature.
And look at all that black isn't it wonderful? Best music app ever, I miss it terribly. In iOS 6 all you had to do was tap the artwork in the main player window. Simple, easy, direct.![]()

The reason is an organization called NMPA. They are the an organization for songwriters of the music and they usually have a copyright on the lyrics. Most of the lyric websites don't pay the royalties that they are suppose to to publish the lyrics online. Many of the songwriters don't get a lot of money even if the song is a hit and is popular. I'm speaking especially of songwriters and not bands or performers who write their own songs specifically, but a lot of those artists don't like the lyric web sites http://www.hypebot.com/hypebot/2014...ites-release-new-unlicensed-site-ranking.htmlI've never understood why iTunes purchase music didn't have lyrics in its metadata.

I'm gonna cry. The last good music app from Apple...
I think they're probably coming from beatunes. I'm not seeing any automatic Apple lyrics in the Music (Musique) app. The menu option simply isn't there anywhere.lyrics does work in the Music App even if you do not pay to stream. I purchase all my music and I purchased an app on my mac called beatunes that adds lyrics for all my music (well almost all). Those lyrics are showing up for me. Actually I cant be sure if the lyrics are coming from Apple or beatunes, but I do see lyrics when I play my music.
Red herring, because you can add lyrics to your songs in iTunes manually. To those asking about songs purchased vs Apple Music, lyrics are intellectual property that can be licensed separately from the song itself thus having a license to the song does not necessarily entitle you to see the lyrics too. Apple licensed the lyrics specifically in conjunction with Apple Music thus the access for subscribers. It's not an Apple conspiracy to force anyone onto AM, you can thank the music industry eeking out a few more dollars on format change grounds.
Video-wise I'll switch to Plex the moment they have play counts visible in their UI on clients. It's starting to seem more and more these days that the attitude prevalent is "Our way or get over it." It's one thing to add functionality....but not at the cost of interfering with my custom work. Especially when I don't subscribe to Apple Music. It's looking as though they make practically no distinction between the offered service and the manually built libraries of users. My collection came from, in every case, my own hard copy albums. They shouldn't monkey with that.
I never really wanted to migrate from ITunes but there a million other options out there. In many cases seemingly much more friendly. Plex is looking more tempting with each ITunes revision.
Edit: The most annoying part: Completely fixable problems. I'm not looking for a pizza to be delivered every time I add a song to the library....I'm asking to leave certain things alone or give users the option to use/not use. They can completely remedy these problems...truth is IMO they just don't give a damn.
That's what you get when the app and a specific, OPTIONAL service which only is a subset of the features of said app, share the same name.I subscribe to iTunes Match (which technically doesn't seem to exist anymore) and none of my albums -- not the ones where I added lyrics myself nor any that I bought from Apple (including Hamilton, which is shown above with lyrics) -- shows an option to view lyrics. Displaying THOSE would already be plenty enough, this way is just incredibly inconsistent.

Lack of H.265, categories (other than playlists), 10-bit color depth, styled subtitles and what seems a trend towards less features to fake simplicity are starting to annoy me.

GENIUS!
