How to use DND?

How do you use the do not disturb on ios 6?
I read somewhere you can set it up to only allow calls from certain people, the rest are silent during certain hours.

You just turn it on.
You can set it to automatically come on during certain times. You can set groups (i.e. Favorites) to ignore DnD so their calls/texts always come through.
There's also a setting to allow DnD to allow someone to get through if they call twice within a 3 minute window.
