How to use exponments on pages

Im wriitng a scientific report on pages and i need to say 10-4 (four being the exponent

I trided the control command (+) sign and its not working any other wat to do this?

To make text superscript in Pages, it is Ctrl-Command and the + sign, but to get to the plus sign, it would be Ctrl-Command-Shift and the plus sign.
