How to use Logitech Z-5500 with the new Unibody MacBook Pro?

Just like the title said, how can I used a 5.1 speaker like the Logitech Z-5500 with the Unibody MacBook Pro??

I am not familiar with how toslink cable works.. Can someone please enlighten me?

You take the mini toshlink end and plug it into your macbook pro. The regular toshlink end goes to your 5500's. You'll get 2.1 and 5.1 from dolby digital encoded sources.
