how to use Photostream without iphoto on a mac?

    hi, i really like the idea of photostream, but i dont use iphoto and not interested in purchasing or start using it at all...

    is there any way to get it working like its on a pc, a finder folder?

    Not really. It requires iPhoto 11. I did come up with a work around, but it requires you to have a separate PC and install iCloud for Windows on it. I then had my pictures stored in Dropbox on the PC, which allowed me to access them outside of iPhoto on my Mac. But most folks don't have both a Mac and a PC.

    can be done via virtual machine?
    does the pc have to be online? i have a pc but i dont use it, if its one time config it could be great (but seems its not..)

    can it be accessed somehow via the icloud.com?

    Does it need to be 11? Or can it be previous versions?

    well 2009 wont work so...
