How to use the Apple EarPods with Remote and Mic to take photo with NightCap Pro?

Hello, I bought NightCap Pro 8.1. I am supposed to be able to take photo using the Apple EarPods with Remote and Mic. However, when I pressed the button (+ or - or both), either my iPhone 6s+ played music or activated Siri. How do I take photo using the remote control from the EarPods?

Are you sure you are pressing (and not holding) the + button and not the middle action button on the headset? Does it work fine in the built-in iOS Camera app from Apple?
