An improvement to this would be for the picture to be automatically taken when you align the crosshairs.

1. A good feature, for them as need it. More generally useful would be an artificial horizon to level horizontal shots and even a vertical indicator to show the camera is perfectly upright.

It may be that they are using ARKit for this feature - which currently only supports horizontal planes.

Edit: I posted before reading others’ comments, it does work, but it doesn’t make much sense if it will only work facing down. How often do people actually take photos in that manner?
