    Do you mean iPhoto?

Generally speaking I don't think animated Gifs are all that sported in iPhoto or preview. Try viewing them in Safari.

I think the OP means the stock Photos app. iPhoto doesn't seem like it would belong in an IOS 6 subforum.

Are you sure they're still GIF's? IIRC, photos synced via iTunes are converted into JPG's.

iOS doesn't support moving .gif files in the default Photo app.

If you are jailbroken/jailbreak a tweak called Giffy will let you view animated gifs that are downloaded from Safari in the photos app .

Certain document viewer apps (like "Files") can open animated gifs.

    Best way:

    1. Open the Photos app.
    2. Open the camera roll album.
    3. Tap the gif you would like to view.
    4. Tap the Action button in the lower left corner (it looks like an arrow jumping out of a box).
    5. Select 'Email Photo.'
    6. view that beautiful gif in all it's glory and just hit 'cancel' and then 'delete draft'.
    7. done.
