M mchcopl macrumors newbie Original poster Feb 13, 2010 #1 Well I want to look at my children's files but when I try it says that I don't have permission too look at them! I mean what more permission do you need then to be an Administrator?! Do I need to have Root access or something?!?!!!

spinnerlys Guest Feb 13, 2010 #2 You can ask them if they will show them to you. Otherwise I think of it as reading another person's diary without permission. And an admin has no full rights under Mac OS X. Only the root user has access to everything.

I don't have root user enabled, but as admin, I can see all the files owned by other users on my Mac. Are you referring to something else?
