The thing is that YOU have to have your phone with you!

Wow. I thought all you guys that bash these tutorials know everything. But you obviously don't. You don't need your phone for everything, including the photos that you sync with the watch.

Mr. Cadet, can I respectfully suggest that you read some these MR tutorials. It's very obvious you need to do so because you don't know everything!

These how-to's are starting to feel like deliberate threads to incite comments about how pointless the watch is...

They're working!

I don't understand. If you feel the watch is pointless then I assume you don't have one. If you don't have one then why are you even clicking the links to these How To articles?

I for one enjoy these How To's. They are a bit elementary but I think they are fun read. Besides you never know, there could be a trick or tip in the article that I don't know already.

I understand this is a Rumors site but articles like this I think bring a little extra life to the site. If you don't like the articles it's no like your forced to read it. You can just ignore it and move onto an article that is more to your liking.

A tutorial ? Please what happened to "it just works" ?

There are many Apple Watch tutorials out here lately. Are they really needed as many people are interested or should it simply attract new readers? Well, in the past I didn't see any when new products where introduced...

I'm amused by all the hostility to these How To articles. I've gotten benefit from at least 2 or 3, including this one. Why wouldn't you pull out your phone to show a picture? For the same reason you wouldn't want to pull out your phone to tell the time. The watch is already out. Just makes life a bit easier. Also, if you're on public transit, in a cab or many other places, it's just easier to pull up the photos app and show the pic.

But please keep slamming Macrumors for these articles. I'm getting a big kick out of it.
How has this helped you? There's a photos app on the Watch. I tap the app icon. My photos open.

If I didn't have this thing I would swear it must be the most complicated device Apple has ever made based on these tutorials.

The articles aren't for you. Doesn't mean that they aren't for someone else. That's really all there's to it.

I understand that, but I asked how this article personally helped him to view photos on his Watch. Some people may enjoy reading these articles to see how the Watch works if they don't have one themselves...I just don't see this article helping anyone who has actually used the Watch with viewing photos.

I wasn't really thinking about using the photos app on my watch. I saw the how to on Macrumors, read it, then went into my phone and moved a bunch of photos into my favorites album. Now I have those photos on my watch. Was at dinner last night and was talking about my kids and was able to show pictures on my watch. Didn't have to take out my phone. Had I not seen the how to on MR I wouldn't have been able to do that. That's how it helped me.

Actually, there is a "Getting Started" tutorial:

Ugh, I can't stand people posting GIFs in response to articles. :p

How did you get to see that collage of all the pictures in the album? I only see one picture at a time.

When you open it, the first screen will be a collage of all pictures in your album. Rotate the Digital Crown to zoom in.
