No not at all. Because these events have become so starchy it's painful. Particularly now that there isn't an audience to feedback off. It feels like every word, vocal inflection and smile is carefully pre-scripted and verified to meet some arbitrary PR ruleset.
“Who wants a stylus yuck!” Or throwing a piece of tech at an audience member and saying “We’ll let an expert turn it on.” aint gonna happen again. PR would pass a grit.
Yet those are the memorable moments. These new events have nothing memorable. There’s no frisson anymore. Just automatons regurgitating PR speak, spliced in with video shorts of Apple Watch saving lives which are created to cause the viewer to emote in a very calculated manner.
I might be being cynical but I’m not far from the truth. Get some soul back Apple.
🧼 📦 Following a dismal summer of crappy software, this event needs to be good. Apple has been sliding into yesterday's news with some rather anemic offerings. News outlets used to report on Apple's latest iPhone, but apparently they're no longer considered newsworthy. Sadly, Apple already lost me on the laptop side, so I have my fingers crossed that Mr. Beancounter will announce something that I can use — today.

I noticed this as well. To me it looks like it could be an AirTag overlapping a HomePod Mini, overlapping a HomePod.

Would be a bad name for an year with 5G and a new design, and the S suffix doesn't sound great for the Pro.
Try to spell 11S Pro Max, sounds too long and complex. I mean, Pro Max kind of sucks as a name, but putting an extra S would be even worse.

That’s probably the point. I think it’s meant to be humorous. But this is a tough crowd. This place used to be more fun. I guess it’s a reflection of the times we live in.
good advice and I most definitely will not be watching during work (even though I’ll be remote).
I’ll wait till hours later having a glass of wine combing through these forums late and the presentation a few hours after work. Especially since it’s a Windows shop.
